"KoMoDA" (German title)
The underlying neurophysiology of motor skills and cognition in children with DCD versus ADHD

PI: Dr. Emily Meachon

Funding: The Waterloo Foundation & Basel Freiwillige Akademische Gesellschaft

October 2025 - July 2026

We are currently recruiting German-speaking children to take part in a mobile EEG study to investigate parallel use of motor and cognitive skills in children with typical development, as well as diagnosed DCD and/or ADHD. Get in touch if you are interested in the study and see the flyer below for information on participating.

Recruitment is open until April 2026

"InSiSt-Walk"
A neurophysiological comparison of inhibition while sitting, standing, and walking

PI: Dr. Emily Meachon

Funding: University of Basel Research Fund for Excellent Junior Researchers

December 2023 - November 2025

Imagine you are standing at a crosswalk and the pedestrian light turns green. You begin to walk but a car speeds by and you have to take a step back to avoid it. How does this process work in behavior and the brain?

In the "InSiSt-Walk" project, we aim to understand these mechanisms by examining inhibition in various contexts of movement (i.e., sitting, standing, and walking) in typically developing adults and those with ADHD. A series of multi-modal studies will examine inhibition across movement contexts through the lens of self-report criteria, objective motor tests, behavioral and cognitive task performance, gait analysis, and mobile EEG measurement.
